Guiding Principles

Love

Empathy. Acceptance. Compassion. Consideration. These are the building blocks of a life of purpose.

Community

Our choices always affect others. Our existence is not independent from the lived experiences of others. What we do now matters to the future.

Objective Knowledge

Sound decision-making and responsible action depend on observable, testable and verifiable data. When objective information requires us to change, we need to accept that. We are responsible for overcoming personal bias, omission, distortion, fabrication and logical fallacy for the good of ourselves and society.

Creativity

Art is in everything when we open our minds to it. Inspiration and expression add color to our world, deepening our connection with ourselves, each other and our environment.

Adaptability

Everything changes. We have to be able to evolve. When something doesn't work or serve a purpose, leave it behind. We can't be tied to things just because they're familiar. Fear of the unknown blocks opportunity.

For All

Every person has the equal right to security, safety and participation in society. We must continuously strive for equity in access. We need justice to ensure liberty and equity and to hold those who infringe upon them accountable. This applies personally, socially, environmentally and economically.

Living your purpose shouldn't be a drag.

After hearing “why” for the 34th time, the mother of a precocious 7-year-old Ashley M. Dillon finally threw her hands in the air and said, “Look it up.” The simple idea stuck with the girl, who would quickly grow into an unapologetic reader and the go-to research department for family, friends and teachers. This soon spun out of control into an unbreakable passion for writing and editing, as evidenced by several pencil callouses and skipped recesses, and inevitably, a lifetime of dedication to her craft.

With a B.A. in English/Professional Writing and minor in Sociology, along with 12 years’ professional writing and editing experience, Ashley is a word nerd and design enthusiast known to bleed red ink. She is also committed to continuously building her skills and expertise, creating and sharing knowledge, and coaching others to be better written and visual communicators.

Ashley is an empathetic listener who doesn’t just hear what others have to say, but also experiences it. She believes storytelling (along with amazing food and music) are what makes us human and loves to create compelling, stand-out stories for businesses and organizations. She strategizes with one eye on the microscope, intricately looking at the details, while keeping the other eye on the telescope to see the big picture and how it all fits together. Ashley doesn’t find this dizzying—in fact, she finds it just as exciting as celebrating what brings us together along with what makes us different.

Ashley works as a content specialist in the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas, living her life of purpose with her two favorite humans on the planet—husband Joe and son Ashtyn—along with a clutter of cats, way too many vinyl records, and a rotating taco menu.
